Hormone tracking after hysterectomy?

Hey all!
I'm just shy of 5 weeks out, and I'm curious if any of you do cycle tracking after your surgeries?
Prior to surgery I was doing urine hormones and temps, along with cervical mucus to confirm ovulation, and I loved how much info it gave me. I knew that I was nauseous because of ovulation. I knew anxiety was because of hormones, etc.
I'm really not liking the idea of not knowing where I am in my cycle, and not knowing when I'm officially menopausal.
So I'm wondering if anyone else tracks temps to confirm ovulation, mostly just because I wonder if I'm weird, lol!

Re: Hormone tracking after hysterectomy?

Though some of us may experience a time of our ovaries (if we kept them) being ‘offline’ for a bit, after the disruption of surgery. If you are used to tracking, by all means, continue! It’s not weird at all, nothing wrong with tuning into your body.

Hormone tracking after hysterectomy? (23) Nope, I didn't, I have a hard enough keeping track of time. Hormone tracking after hysterectomy? (24) I was still ovulating when I had my hysterectomy - late to the menopause party as my mother was. I just followed along with symptoms changing from PMS-type to menopause-type to let me know I was in menopause.

One of my Recovery Week friends had the hardest time deleting her period app from her phone. Most of us were glad to get away from knowing when our periods were coming, marking in a journal or on a calendar. She finally deleted it after realizing she wasn't using it, and she probably didn't look back.

Cussette, I think the issue is tracking has been my life for like 5 years, so I wondering not having that info will even matter... does that make sense? The brain fog is thick these last few days, lol!

I absolutely track. Hormones still control so much and i like to know why i feel what i feel. I can feel ovulation so i don't take temperature but i take notes and track.

This! Thank you! I wasn't sure if anyone else felt as informed knowing hormone shifts. I think I will get the smart thermometer so I dont have to wake up to temp, but can still confirm ovulation. I'm not certain I will have the same level of pain with ovulation I used to, hopefully I won't!
But it's really nice to be able to say "no, it's not a stomach bug, it's just ovulation" and such...

Yes I did for more than a year post using an app. It helped me understand what was going on, mood swings, bloating, cramps, etc.

Hormone tracking after hysterectomy?

I try my best to track because for awhile I felt like I might be dealing in premature failure it just slow coming back after surgery. I'm a year now but after about 4 months I wanted to start figuring it out and what symptoms were related to what. I had levels checked but it was so confusing because there was no real way to tell what point of a 'cycle' I was in to know what was normal or menopausal. The doctor was no help either. It's been frustrating to say the least but I think I'm starting to see a pattern and use my old period app to gauge it. I still get tender breasts about a week prior and notice slight cramping but nothing like before. That's really all I have to go off but at least I can maybe have a possible schedule and get a recheck again.

That's why I think I will go with temps to track. They're reliable enough I can confirm ovulation. Have you tried temps?

No I never did temp checks so I don't think I'd know what was normal for me. I was on bc pills forever prior to the surgery also, so it's hard to know what a normal round of my own production is like I think.
